They say to live a long life you should have daughters – I\u2019m lucky enough to have two who, believe it or not, are willing to spend a Saturday night with their old man instead of going out clubbing. So, off we went to a local am-dram theatre production of Lord Arthur Savile\u2019s Crime (originally a short story by Oscar Wilde), which I have to say was excellent. It took me back to student days in the 70\u2019s when, as part of a series of lunchtime recitals, I played the Poulenc flute sonata at the same theatre \u2013 50 years later, I\u2019m still practising that tricky last movement\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The previous night I was down in Chepstow with Beatrix Players<\/a> at Winters End Progressive Rock Festival<\/a>. I played there 2 years ago with JHB and it was great to be back (not just for the food!). Congratulations to Stephen Lambe, Sonicbond Promotions and the rest of the team for putting on such a terrific and well organised event. Thanks also to Gabe and Graham for excellent sound and stage management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next up for me are the final two gigs of April \u2013 both with John Hackett Band<\/a>. The first will be in Halifax on Friday 19th of April at Square Chapel Arts Centre<\/a>, where we\u2019ll be sharing the evening with the wonderful Joanne Harris and the #Storytime Band<\/a>. The John Hackett Band & Joanne Harris and The Storytime Band<\/a> Then Saturday 20th of April JHB will be in Aylesbury at Queens Park Arts Centre<\/a>.
