I was told to keep Saturday night free for a \u2018surprise\u2019 Father\u2019s Day event. I was worried it\u2019d be bungee jumping from the top of Big Ben again\u2026 It tends to play havoc with my flute embouchure as you can see from last time (and look what it did to my flute!). But instead, at about 4 o\u2019clock the doorbell rang and there was my son saying he was taking me and the rest of the family out for an Indian meal \u2013 in my opinion a much more pleasant surprise and better for my blood <\/a>pressure too!<\/p>\n\n\n

I\u2019m thinking of my own father today who was a great encouragement to me and Steve when we were starting off in music and I\u2019m very conscious that not everybody gets to have such support in those crucial early years. Here\u2019s dad just after WW2 in his red beret.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, if you\u2019d like to come and wish me and the chaps in John Hackett Band<\/a> a belated happy Father\u2019s Day, you\u2019ll find us in Honiton and Penzance on the 21st and 22nd June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
