Duncan Parsons – RoughDraftAudio
The Lantern Theatre, Sheffield
Sat 1st Feb – Chrystine Moon and Catherine Warr
Social campaigner, humorist, & singer/songwriter Chrystine will be doing what she does best, with hit YouTube historian Catherine opening proceedings
Sat 1st Mar – Pocket Satellite, Lofter, and Duncan Parsons come together again for an intimate acoustic mini-festival. Family friendly, and a lot of fun
Fri 7th Mar – Nick Battle Singer/Songwriter will be singing songs from his albums, and telling tales of his long career in the music industry as musician (working alongside Godley & Creme and Chris Rea to name a couple) and as A&R/ Publisher/ PR/ Promoter for some many influential acts. He even had a hand in bringing us The Spice Girls..!
Mon 24th Mar – Rising star of the UK folk scene, Chris Brain, returns to The Lantern after his barnstorming gig in 2024. The evening will be opened by Robbie Thompson.
Fri 28th Mar – Initially known from her time in prog band Mostly Autumn, Heather Findlay has set a path with her solo career, establishing herself as a respected singer/songwriter, drawing in blues, folk, Americana, and anything else to hand.. The evening will also feature robyngairmusic – Robyn’s astonishing voice complements her quirky, exquisite songwriting.
Thu 3rd Apr – Pete Roth Trio – PRT have emerged as the new vehicle for the recently un-retired Bill Bruford! This will be a fabulous evening of new “interactive” music (that’s jazz to thee an’ me..!)
Fri 4th Apr – Del Scott Miller hails from Barnsley, bringing songs recalling the past with an eye on the future. His mastery of the fretboard and keen ear for a story translates into folk songs with great depth. Ant Clifford’s Lofter will be opening the evening.
Sat 5th Jul – It’s almost a residency! Dave Bainbridge and Sally Minnear‘s duo return again to The Lantern with their Celtic flavoured songs and jigs. Sally’s amazing voice is a perfect counterpoint to Dave’s astonishing instrumental prowess. Sold out in 2024, book early to avoid disappointment!

Sat 4th Oct – American folk/blues/pop singer Angel J Snow has gently been making a name for herself on these shores over the last decade. Her sell out UK appearances in 2024 bear testament to the quality of her writing and performance. Rather looking forward to this.

Fri 9th Oct – The Blackheart Orchestra return to Sheffield, the van loaded with more instruments than two people should reasonably be expected to play – but somehow they do!

Sat 11th Oct – Genre-hopping favourite, The Little Unsaid, are back in Sheffield, but on The Lantern’s stage for the first time! It’s going to be a marvellous night

Sat 25th Oct – Rounding out the year’s programme is an absolute legend of the UK folk scene – Boo Hewerdine. It feels quite the coup to have him come to The Lantern!
