They say there’s a first time for everything and so it was that last Saturday night I found myself on stage at the Old Clee Social Club playing that Genesis stomper ‘The Knife’ with The Book of Genesis. Despite a mild panic when I’d realised I’d learnt the flute solo in the wrong key (!), it was a great night with the band on fine form. All thanks to our kind hosts Ian and Julie.
Next up for me is the launch of the new John Hackett Band album ‘Red Institution’ (advance orders now being taken) at The Greystones, Sheffield on the 11th of April, followed by Hermon Arts, Oswestry on Saturday the 12th of April. On both nights Dikajee will be opening the show for us with her exquisite voice.
