Spirit of Progressive Rock

Congratulations to Kris Hudson-Lee and everyone involved in the inaugural concert of the Spirit of Progressive Rock at Local Authority in Sheffield last Saturday.

With support from Ethryll and Alistair McGeorge, Strangefish celebrated 30 years together by putting on a terrific show. It was great to see Martin Hudson take to the stage and ask us all to put our glasses on the floor once more…

We will all miss the Classic Rock Society but if this first evening was anything to go by this new organisation will have a lot to offer prog fans in South Yorkshire!

with Marco Lo Muscio

It was fantastic to be back in the beautiful Tuscany town of Pienza, Italy, with Marco Lo Muscio as part of the 5th Pienza International Music Festival “Ivo Petri”.
Our concert on 21 June was at the former monastery, S.Anna in Camprena. It was the perfect setting for the launch of our new duo instrumental CD – On the Wings of the Wind (Stradivarius label), celebrating our 10 years of musical collaboration. It was a joy to play to such an appreciative audience – our thanks to them, and to the staff for being so helpful.
We then drove to Orvieto, arriving just as the city was closed to traffic for the annual Historical Parade, part of the Corpus Domini tradition that goes back centuries. Explaining the situation, the helpful police provided a siren-blaring motorbike to escort us to the church – going the wrong way through the winding streets!

The concert that evening was at the Chiesa di S.Agostino, with Andrea Padova joined by by Marco and myself. The audience was enhanced by the series of monumental statues of the apostles, which used to line the nave of the Orvieto Duomo.

The CD can be ordered from the Hacktrax shop page: https://hacktrax.co.uk/index.php/product/wings-of-the-wind/
